Involving You
Norfolk Police Authority is committed to engaging with the people of Norfolk to seek their views on the policing of Norfolk. Despite our efforts to listen to as many people in the community as possible, there are still groups of the public who we rarely reach. It is important that the Authority endeavours to reach as wide a representation of the public as possible to ensure Norfolk is policed effectively and as far as possible according to the needs of the people who live and work here.
The Authority's Community Engagement Strategy (Community Engagement Strategy - April 2008-March 2011 (PDF 121k)) sets out how the Authority intends to promote enhanced citizenship and improve community confidence. Alongside of which they will be monitoring the Constabulary to ensure it is also engaging robustly with the people of Norfolk.
Local Policing Summary
Each year we produce a Local Policing Summary
(Local Policing Summary - 2009 (PDF 788k)).

Norfolk Police Authority commissioned UK research company Ipsos MORI to explore the confidence of some of the county’s community groups in local policing. At a meeting of the Authority’s Citizen Focus Committee to be held on 1 September 2010, Members of Norfolk Police Authority, along with senior officers of Norfolk Constabulary, will consider the findings presented by Ipsos MORI following its engagement with three different communities in the county: young black men, sex workers and people with mental health problems.
