We monitor the impact of our business and that of Norfolk Constabulary on diverse communities by working with local people to explore their views and experiences. Our Members scrutinise regular reports from the Constabulary to monitor the action being taken by the Force to help eliminate discrimination and promote equality.

The Authority's commitment to eliminating discrimination and promoting equality is set out within its Single Equality Scheme.
The Scheme gives details of the action taken by the Authority to meet that commitment, and acts as a foundation upon which further activity is built.

Hate Crime
Hate crime can have a significant impact on victims' lives. It can make individuals feel isolated and excluded, and cause tension and even conflict in the wider community.
Organisations across Norfolk have worked together to develop a consistent standard for tackling hate crime/incidents, so that victims can be confident in coming forward and reporting.

A Stop and Search is when a police officer stops you and searches you, your clothes or anything you are carrying.
Stop and Search can help the police detect crime and make our communities safer.
If you are stopped and searched by the police, you should be treated fairly and with respect.
