Stop & Search - Statistics & Monitoring

The Norfolk Police Authority monitors the Norfolk Constabulary's use of Stop & Search and Stop and Account at our Scrutiny and Audit Committee. The Committee receives reports twice a year from the Chief Constable. These Committee meetings are open to the public. http://www.norfolk-pa.gov.uk/committees.cfm

For many years, both nationally and locally, these statistics have shown disproportionality in the use of Stop & Search when the number of searches is compared to resident population for different ethnic groups. Stop & Search rates for Black and Asian people compared to their resident population are higher than for White people.
